"The cosmovision of a civilization is the way people perceive nature and the cosmos and how they interact with these. The Mesoamerican (middle america) cosmovision highlights the concept of time -derived from the universal laws that ruled human relationships- and the existence of gods and beings of nature. The beliefs and rituals found their support in myths and magic conjuring. Religious beliefs are frequently intimately connected to the ingestion of plants, herbs, fungi or cacti that have signified, and still signify for several indigenous people, the initiation to the secrets of life, death and learning."
